Rather than submit to deposition by Perry Law’s Founding Partner E. Danya Perry, former President Donald Trump dismissed his civil lawsuit against his former attorney Michael Cohen. Danya’s official statement discussing this momentous victory for our client is below.
Statement of E. Danya Perry, founding partner of Perry Law, on the dismissal of Donald Trump’s $500 million civil lawsuit against her client, Michael Cohen:
This is a great win for Michael and for our team, and it confirms what we’ve said from the beginning: this was a baseless lawsuit solely brought to retaliate against our client for his willingness to testify truthfully against Trump, including before Congress, in the NY Attorney General’s fraud suit, and in the NY District Attorney’s criminal case related to Trump’s hush money payments. We stood up to Mr. Trump’s threats, and last night he ran scared to avoid me deposing him on Monday.
We do not anticipate Mr. Trump following through on his latest baseless threat to refile and are instead turning our attention to holding Trump accountable for his harassing litigation.
